Seven

Who is being represented in the opening scene? How are they represented? Is this positive or negative?
Brad Pitt (David Mills) and Morgan Freeman (William R. Somerset) where both being presented in the opening scene of seven. They was both being presented as positive helpful people as they are detective that investigates crimes.  Although in the opening scene it does not show them physically to create tension and enigmas for the audience.

What titles for each opening look like? Do they symbolise the thriller genre?
The tile looks simple but the colour used portrays danger meaning that something is going to happen. The word used to decide what was meant by seven sets the scene as to what the film is all about.the way that the title was opening scene was set out already presents the theme in which the film will be based on ,with the pictures and files that was shown on the screen.
It creates enigmas as to the ways that its going to happen and what has led things to happen the way it set out to happen.

Analyse the camera, sound, editing and mise-en-scène. How do these technical areas make you aware
that this is the thriller genre?
The camera shots helps set the scene of what was going on , the close shots on some of the things that was being presented at the set creates tension and enigmas for the audience. the non-deictic sound  creates an image in the audience mind as to what it would look like if the images of the sounds that was playing was to become alive.
Mise-en-scene, does set the scene as there was no visible customs of any characters just shows of close up shots of hands and newspapers , which adds to the enigmas to know who the hands belong to so you are able to understand why they are doing what they are doing.

Which production company was the film made by? How might this affect the film content?
The film company that was presented in the opening of seven was New Line Cinema, which is one of the bigger cinema chains. therefore the content if the film will be great as audience will want to watch the film and see what is going on and what the film is all about.
